Radio Fireworks
I seem to have disappeared again. Sorry about that.
I've spent the day listening to everything I can find from the mysterious 'DISSONANT' label... which isn't that easy as all of their one-sided 12"s are limited to only 1 or 200 copies.

I'm not as blown away as I was hoping after reading some excitable stuff on the web, as not all the releases are as great as they've been sometimes made out to be... but it's certainly a label worth exploring - and they're certainly best when keeping away from the minimal techno & getting their funk on. These two are great:
CAGE AND AVIARY - TELEVISION TRAIN
ALI RENAULT - ZOMBIE RAFFLE
A CD compilation available at Phonica is probably your best way to sample the label.
EDIT: MP3s REMOVED BY REQUEST: ""We are very much anti-mp3 - especially when they are played in public, mainly because they sound nasty but also because of the way they cheapen and ultimately erode musical culture."
I've been playing a lot of old skool tunes recently, and this track from the new Surkin single is a perfect blend of piano house & Detroit Techno. Well looking at Hype Machine it's probably not new anymore, but I only heard it recently. The music's looking back & so shall I.

SURKIN - WHITE NIGHT TWO
Finally the sporadically brilliant In Flagranti hit one of their sporadic high points with this track from their new 'Firmly Planted Memories' EP.
It sounds remarkably like an Optimo re-edit, and i'm sure must be an edit of something old. It sounds like some kind of mental post punk track with a frantic disco bassline added. Good stuff indeed!
LORD ISIS - ERDOEL
Edit: Thanks to Kev for digging out the original... !
