Lazy Sundays?

Yesterday's 'Bloggers Delight' at the Lock Tavern was a top day. Casper somehow managed to coerce JUSTICE into playing. And they did a great job of looking French; smoking Gitanes*; playing some great tunes; and surviving the frequent meltdowns of the soundsystem....

Superstar Djz at work:

Amongst the rest of the all-star line-up it was good to see Duke Dumont & Kissy Sell Out for the first time. You should go and befriend them as they looked lonely. I'd have posted some of their tracks up, but they didn't give me any!

,-)

I was on as well... but the existence of my set seems to have been lost to the annals of history. Here are some more photos from the night though. There's another, rather more shiny, selection here if you prefer glossy and professional to amateur and shambolic. Warning: you may see me lurking around.

Skull Juice:

Getting high in the tavern:

Sell out!

A bit of leg:

Damn, where did i leave my beer?

Duke Dumont's biggest fan(s):

We are your friends!

The Croat girls were keeping it regal:

And did I mention our disco?

So on your way out, if you could hand out some of these flyers....

This is something Justice teased us with.... a new Soulwax remix of Robbie Williams that's got some people all in a lather. It's a bit hard to judge as the sound on the clip isn't great, but it certainly sounds promisingly nuts!

EDIT: Thanks to Andrew for pointing me in the direction of this link, where you can find a radio rip of the Soulwax remix (from John Kennedy's XFM show).

I have started to get complaints that "it's all fuckin' football & no mp3s" up here. So i'd better do something to restore my reputation as a purveyor of cutting edge sounds. This is from the new SebastiAn single on Ed Banger (of course). It's out this week, so you should look out for this staring out of the rack at your local vinyl emporium:

I must admit, i've found the last couple of Ed Banger releases have lacked the originality of the earlier ones. I'm still enjoying this, but i'm not sure I really need THAT many more banging glitchy electro tracks in my life. Hmmm.... slightly heretic I know. But there are a lot of people doing this shit now. I guess they set such high standards early on that it's hard to maintain that.

SEBASTIAN - WALKMAN

Come back tomorrow though, when i'll hopefully have some new Uffie!
