Futurama

The BBC website has announced its annual '10 bands for 2006' list.

They've been pretty good at spotting new talent the last few years, although most of the bands i've heard on this year's list leave me a little cold.

2. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!

4. Plan B
5. Guillemots
6. Sway
7. Chris Brown
8. Marcos Hernandez
9. Kubb
10. The Automatic

Guillemots i've mentioned before, and I think are pretty great. Plan B did a single I quite enjoyed, while i'm yet to fall for the supposed charms of Sway or Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! Chris Brown = Usher but worse and Marcos Hernandez is another boyband reject.

This band at number 10 though, The Automatic, seem pretty promising on the basis of this one song i've heard.



THE AUTOMATIC - RECOVER

There aren't too many things out there that don't have an electro-ey influence right now, but this song uses that old Gigolo arpeggiator better than most. This would certainly get me spilling my drink down at the indie disco. I've just listened to it like 8 times in a row.
